2x Sukat - 2x Socks

Viimeisessä kuvassa on tämän hetken tilkkuprojektini alkutahdit. Ei kauheasti kyllä edistystä tuppaa tulevan...

I got some yarn for Christmas and since then I've been slowly knitting away. A line here and there and a bit more some evenings. Here are the first 2 pairs of socks finished. For some reason they look massive in the pictures, but in real life they are "women's size", which is about 37-40 in European size chart. I managed to take pictures during the day although I just missed the 3 minutes of sunshine today. But, the days are getting longer already! In the last picture you can see the start of my latest quilting project. It's not progressing very fast, but at least I've started it.

My time for hobbies seems to be very scarce. I have not advanced any bigger projects but sometimes I just have to get something done. My kids got a new cousin and I decided to make a reflector for his pram. And then I made a few more. The first dragonfly is for the baby and the purple butterfly for his big sis. And the last dragonfly I attached to my own hat. The spine of these bugs is wire and the bugs are attached to safety pins.

Puikkopidike - Knitting needle holder

Scroll down for English, please.

Hiukan on pihalla pidelly kylmiä.

The Siberian cold has set upon us this week and prevented all outside activities. I've had to play entertainment office for the kids indoors. Also our baby has pretty much stopped taking naps during the day, since he hasn't been able to sleep outside. Today it was -20 C. Hopefully tomorrow it will be a lot less.

I managed to steal a moment for myself and made new knitting needle holders. I've had one that I've used for many years, but the elastic in that one finally gave out. These are sorely needed since I got some yarn for Christmas. I've been knitting here and there as you can see. The design element in the middle of the cherry holder is due to the fact that the elastic was a bit too long for my needles. I decided to fold the elastic in the middle and sew a small patch to cover it... These are the best way to travel with a knitting project. And also a good way to protect the project from kids. A good way to use some scraps!
