This is not exactly a quilt finish, but I'll count these a finish anyway... We are enjoying the midsummer festivities at home this year. First thing in the morning I went to the forest to make bath whisks. They are called "vihta" and they are used in sauna, not bath, but that was the only translation I could find... You use them to beat (gently) yourself and others. The bigger one is for adults and the smaller one for kids. I'm still not a master at this tradition, but hopefully I'll get there someday.
Perinteisestihän huushollin eteen viritetään juhannuskoivuja, mutta minä tyydyn tänä vuonna näihin koivunoksiin. Ne on koristamassa sisääntuloa. Hyvää juhannusta kaikille! Nauttikaa keskiyön auringosta jos sellainen näkyy.
Traditionally the house entrance is decorated with birch trees, but I just made small arrangements using small branches. Happy Midsummer to everyone! Enjoy the midnight sun and the endless night!
Happy Summer Solstice to you too! I like the traditions; I wonder where "beating" each otheroriginated!
