The log cabin block has been on my bucket list for a while and since I wanted to use my scraps it was a good time to get building. I thought I had a lot of scraps, but I was sooo wrong. I only had strings cut out for maybe five whole blocks. After that I had to cut from larger fabrics. It's all good though, everything came from my stash. First I wanted to make a pink quilt, but it quickly turned into a rainbow. The pinks didn't have enough contrast to suit my taste. All of my log cabins ended up different sizes so I also dove in to my white scraps and made all the blocks the same size. Once I sewed up all the pieces the finished top looked like a village. All the cabins spread around on their own lots. Therefore the quilt will be named Village.
Tässä yksi lemppariblokki. Here's one of my favorite blocks.
Tässä blokissa on pala sitä kangasta josta katson tilkkuilu-urani, ja varsinkin tikkausurani alkaneen. Tuo oikeassa reunassa oleva kukallinen pala.
This block has a piece of the fabric that started my quilting - and especially my FMQ - hobby. The floral one on the right.
My sewing machine has been stationed on the kitchen table for at least the past month (since there's not enough room in my work room to FMQ). Now I have 2 tops to quilt... I wonder if I'll ever get my dining room table cleared of my sewing...
Ihana kyläpeitto, tosi kiva ja hauska hirsimökki!
