Vedenalaiset huiput - Underwater Peaks

Nyt oli pakko tehdä valmiiksi suikalekolmiotyö. Pitkään se hautui, mutta nyt tuli vastaanottajan syntymäpäivä vastaan, joten ei auttanut muu kuin ryhtyä hommiin. Ompelin ensin vaaleat osat kolmioiden ympärille ja aloin sitten sommitella kokonaisuutta pienimmän välikaitalevaatimuksen menetelmällä. Kun sain tilkut kasaan niin pinta näytti vähän pieneltä. Onneksi ostin useamman kankaan takakappaleeksi, joten pistin tätä sinistä kuplakangasta reunoihin. Tälläinen siitä sitten tuli. Aika moderniksi lipsahti.

Now I had to finish my triangles made of strips. It has been marinating for a long time, because I've been indecisive about the back drop for the triangles. The person who received this quilt had his birthday so I had to make an effort to finish on time. First I sewed the light blue parts around the triangles. After that I started to arrange the uneven sized blocks based on the "minimal need for extra sashing" -method. The quilt top looked a little too small so I added some borders. I had plenty of the bubble fabric since I've been auditioning many different fabrics for this quilt. Here is the final product. Kind of slipped on to the modern side of things...

Koska alkoi tulla vähän kiire tikkauksen suhteen niin tyydyin tekemään tälläisen silmukka 3x kaiutus kuvioon. Siitä tuli parempi kuin alunperin ajattelin.

Since I was in a bit of a hurry I quilted this swirl 3x echo design all over. It turned out better than I originally thought.
